I love to connect (with) people and guide them in their journey.
I was introduced to (Ashtanga) yoga in 2013, during an internship in Jakarta - Indonesia. The years following, yoga became an essential part of my life, a passion I would often try to share with friends, family, partner and colleagues.
After graduating from university, I decided to take a year off and focus on my passion for yoga and travel. I joined a 500hr Yoga Teacher Training Course in Rishikesh - India. This YTTC enabled me to truly share my knowledge and joy for yoga.
A year later I joined Skadi van Paassen for a 100hr Yin Teacher Training Course, in The Hague - the Netherlands, to deepen my understanding of foundations of this practice.
I started teaching a couple of months after my first teacher training, which I've continued to do till today. I teach group classes, private & corporate sessions and workshops. I've also taught in a surf & yoga camp, which was done more in a retreat style setting.
Yoga gives me a deeper connection to myself, my body and my surrounding, it brings out happiness and love. This is what I love to share in my classes. My classes vary from Ashtanga, Power classes and Vinyasa (hot) to Yin. You can find me at Yogaground in Rotterdam and at Balanzs in Rotterdam and at different studio's for workshops in the Rotterdam - Leiden area.
I teach different style of yoga:
Ashtanga yoga is a dynamic and physically more challenging style of yoga. I teach classes based on the Ashtanga method originally taught by Shri K. Pattabhi Jois. Ashtanga has a fixed sequence of postures, connected by a deep, conscious breath. This class requires a certain level of strength and flexibility, however I like to be creative with the postures so all levels can participate.
Vinyasa (Hot) means breathing and moving system: for each movement there is one breath. All the postures in this class will be based on the rhythm of the breath, creating a certain flow. I like to be creative with my classes and create a new flow for each class, customised for the practitioners.
Yin yoga is a slow-pace style of yoga where the focus lies on the deeper, stiffer tissues of the body, the connective tissue: the ligaments, joint and the fascia. By staying still in postures for 3-5 minutes and relaxing the muscles completely, we get to work on this deeper tissue.
